About URAWA

Urawa International Education Center is located in Urawa Ward, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture.
Saitama City is designated as an ordinance-designated city, and Urawa Ward which is an administrative district has administrative agencies such as prefectural offices, prefectural police station, court and libraries.
Urawa has also long been known as a city of education and a city of soccer.
Urawa Ward is a safe and secure city suitable for study and daily life.

Features of UIEC Curriculum

The curriculum of the Preparatory Course for higher education such as graduate schools, universities and vocational schools is designed to get good results of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) in June and Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) in December.
We provide effective Japanese language education and appropriate guidance for going on to higher education gacilities.
After completing the beginner’s level (equivalent to JLPT-N4), students study the intermediate level and also more higher-level lessons in parallel for the exam preparations, practice for interview or oral exam is also executed.

We focus on the fields of nursing care, accommodation, food service and manufacture of food and beverages, we offer classes to learn basic Japanese and specified knowledge to aim at passing the specified skills evaluation test.

Classes are 4 hours a day, 760-780 hours a year, except on Saturday, Sunday, public holiday and long holiday.

About Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)

EJU is an examination which is conducted for the purpose of evaluating the required Japanese language skills and basic academic abilities for those who wish to study at Japanese universities as international students.
90.7% of national universities, 59.6% of public universities and 55.6% of private universities are using EJU score, and you can expand your options for going on to higher education institutions by having EJU scores.

In addition, at the total of 159 master’s courses of 72 graduate schools such as Hitotsubashi University, Saitama University, Keio University and Hosei University, EJU is also used to evaluate the Japanese language skills of international students. (as of June 2021)
There is a reservation system of scholarship for privately financed international students who have excellent EJU scores and wish to enroll the undergraduate course, you can receive the scholarship every month during one year after enrolling university.

About Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)

JLPT is an examination that aims to evaluate comprehensive Japanese language skills, about the knowledges of Japanese characters, vocabularies, grammars, and the utilization of actual communication skills. JLPT exam is a computer-graded multiple-choice test, and there are 5 grades from N1 to N5.
JLPT passing grades may be required for graduate school admissions, employment requirements and the requirements of resident status for specified skilled worker program (SSW).
