APRIL ADMISSION
College Preparatory Course 2 Years

Admission month is April and its learning period is 2 years.
A placement test is conducted to evaluate the skill level of students in order to place them in the correct class.
Although the proficiency level at the completion of course depends on each class, UIEC can provide flexible learning environments according to the proficiency level of each student by the class composition up to 16 classes.
The achieved proficiency skills from beginner level to advanced level are as follows.

  • Beginner Level Completed : JLPT-N4 / CEFR-A2
  • Intermediate Level Completed : JLPT-N3 / CEFR-B1
  • Advanced 1 Completed : JLPT-N2 / CEFR-B2
  • Advanced 2 Completed : JLPT-N1 / CEFR-C1

Course Outline
According to our standard schedule, Beginner level is completed at the end of October, Intermediate level which reaches the JLPT-N3/CEFR-B1 is completed at the end of March.
Advanced 1 (JLPT-N2/CEFR-B2) which requires 8 months study period is from April to the end of November in the second year.
During the period of Advanced 1, higher level exam preparation classes to aim passing the JLPT-N1/JLPT-N2 are also held simultaneously with standard classes.
Advanced 2 from December, students will study JLPT-N1/CEFR-C1 to prepare for classes at higher education institutions.

Learning materials and estimated study hours

Beginner Level

  • Minna no Nihongo 1 (188 unit times)
  • Minna no Nihongo 2 (244 unit times)

Intermediate Level

  • Chukyu e Ikou (132 unit times)
  • Chukyu wo Manabou 1, TRY!N3 (188 unit times)

Advanced 1 Level

  • Chukyu wo Manabo 2, TRY!N2~N1 (328 unit times)
  • Exam preparation (220 unit times)

Advanced 2 Level

  • Nihon Bunka wo Yomu, Realia (196 unit times)
  • 1 unit time is 45 minutes, activities are not included in the above study hours.
  • Other teaching materials of kanji, grammar and conversation are also used.
  • Those who have obtained JLPT-N3 or above can transfer to the second grade class by referring to the placement test.
  • Teaching materials are sometimes changed to improve the curriculum.
